Maximizing Value through Strategic Real Estate Development

To generate revenue from its real estate assets, Universiti Malaya established UM Properties Sdn Bhd (UM Properties). UM Properties will be primarily involved in land and property development, as well as providing project management consultancy and property and facilities management services. The goal is to optimise the value of UM’s real estate holdings ensuring the provision of quality to clients.

Provide oversight and leadership in executing projects from planning to completion
Holistic approach in managing and delivering the projects on behalf of UM

Task include managing overall budgets and resources, as well as planning, developing and executing schedules to ensure timely completion of projects.
UM Properties as Project Manager will manage the process from RFP to selection of contractors for intended projects at the best rate, design and construction method.

Monetise landbanks and realty assets of UM
Responsible for overall planning & designs, obtaining approval and permission from authorities, selecting consultants & contractors, managing implementation and ensuring successful completion of development projects.
Ensure development of UM’s landbank is in line with the “Garis Panduan Awam Swasta (Public Private Partnership ‘PPP’) oleh Universiti Awam sebagai Badan Berkanun Persekutuan (“BBP”)”.

Efficiently manage all UM’s properties with objectives of maximising financial and non-financial returns to UM.
Facilitate centralisation of management UM’s properties for commercial purposes to ensure efficient sourcing of tenants and income generations is in accordance with the prevailing market rate.
