What is UMKidz Coding?

UMKidz Coding is an educational program designed to teach children on essential coding and computer science skills in a fun and engaging way.

Who is the program designed for?

The program is designed for children aged 5 – 12 years old who are interested in learning coding and exploring technology.

What will my child learn in the program?

Your child will learn foundational coding concepts, problem-solving skills and computational thinking. They will also have the opportunity to explore different programming languages and technologies.

Who will be teaching the classes?

Classes will be taught by qualified instructors, including educators from the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology (FSKTM) at Universiti Malaya.

What is the schedule of the program, and how often are classes held?

The program is held every month on Saturday only.

Attendance requirement and flexibility?

Students are to be informed that the courses are sequential. For instance, if a student attended the first class on 7 September 2024 but is unable to attend the second class on 14 September 2024, they can opt to attend the second class on 12 October, 9 November, or 14 December 2024.

It is important to note that students cannot skip class; they must complete the second and third classes before progressing to the fourth class.
